About Us
Swim4life is a recognised and well-established independent provider of swimming courses and training in Cape Town. Founded in 1992 by Barbara Johnston, Swim4life has successfully trained thousands of swimmers and currently has over 400 students swimming each week.
Swim4life is a close-knit unit, where all students and parents work with their instructors Ross and Lyndi Johnston on a personal level. This ensures that students stay within a proven and familiar environment. Courses range from infant through to masters level, guaranteeing students learn to swim proficiently as they stay within a familiar teaching methodology.
Our unique approach is based on the fundamental principle that learning how to swim proficiently is important for the physical and mental wellbeing of the learner. The Swim4life swimming lessons provide a simple and natural way to learn how to swim. Swim4life training is also the ideal way to improve a student’s swimming ability.
Training style
The different courses have been carefully formulated to improve coordination, rhythm, stamina and swimming style.
Every type of stroke is broken down into its respective movements and is practised until students are able to combine all the different elements to perform the stroke correctly. This approach produces confident, natural and graceful swimmers. Other benefits to this training include improved fitness levels, posture, breathing and muscle tone.
